We do not accept insurance, and we do not participate with Medicaid. We are considered Out-of-Network Providers, which means we do not directly bill insurance companies.

However, insurance can still assist in payment for mental health services as your health insurance may reimburse you for a percentage of the cost based upon your coverage.

For more information, contact your insurance carrier utilizing the number on the back of your insurance card and ask the following questions:

  • Do I have out-of-network benefits for mental health therapy?
  • If I pay for those sessions, can I get reimbursed?
  • What is the rate of reimbursement for these appointments?
  • What is my “deductible?” (The deductible is the amount of money you must pay out-of-pocket before the insurance company provides reimbursement).
  • Is there a limit to the number of sessions that can be reimbursed within a calendar year?
  • Lastly, the insurance company may request a “CPT code” for the appointments. I use these CPT codes most frequently:
    • Individual Therapy – 90834
    • Couples Treatment – 90847

Common Questions

The primary goals of the complimentary consultation are to gain an understanding of your reason for referral and to answer any questions, comments, or concerns that you might have. Logistics about the service you are seeking will also be shared. The complimentary consultation is also an opportunity to establish a connection and determine if The Wright Direction is an appropriate fit to address your concerns or inquiry.

If you are experiencing a mental health emergency, please call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room. Whenever you need emergency emotional support or are worried about someone else, additional resources include the Here2Help Hotline (410-433-5175) and the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline (1-800-273-8255), which can also be reached by dialing 988. The 988 helpline is free and confidential.

A Clinical Psychologist is a trained mental health professional who specializes in diagnosing and treating emotional, psychological, and behavioral issues. Clinical Psychologists use a variety of evidenced-based interventions to help individuals work through challenges such as anxiety, depression, relationship issues, trauma, and more. Unlike Psychiatrists, Clinical Psychologists generally do not prescribe medication but provide therapy and psychological assessments. Engaging with a Clinical Psychologist is a collaborative process where clients and clinicians work together to explore underlying causes of distress, identify patterns in thinking or behavior, and create practical steps for change. The goal is to help clients gain insight into their difficulties, develop coping strategies, and improve their well-being.

Forensic Psychology is the intersection between law and psychology. Forensic Psychologists apply their knowledge of human behavior to assist with legal cases, investigations, and legal decisions. Their role is to understand how mental health and psychological factors might influence how one thinks, feels, and behaves. Forensic Psychologists are specially trained to interact with attorneys, judges, and jurors in order to provide expert opinions in criminal or civil legal proceedings.

If you are unable to attend your session, we encourage you to reach out and reschedule in advance to ensure continuity of care. Please cancel at least 48 hours before your scheduled appointment. If a cancellation notice is not received within 48 hours of your appointment or if a no show occurs, the full-service fee will be charged.

Your comfort is a priority. If you believe that another provider might be a better fit, please let us know so that appropriate referrals can be made.

For therapy, currently, we only offer virtual sessions. Evaluation services are offered in-person and virtual, depending on the request. Please contact us for further information regarding evaluations.
