I’m Dr. Simone Gillon-Wright, and I’m so glad you’re here.

Meet Dr. Wright

My work as a clinical and forensic psychologist has allowed me to support adults across diverse settings, including private practice, healthcare, community-based care, and forensic environments. These experiences have shaped how I understand mental health, not as something that exists in isolation, but as something influenced by our relationships, responsibilities, environments, identities, and lived experiences.

Throughout my career, I have supported people navigating everything from everyday life stressors and significant transitions to trauma and complex psychological concerns. I have also had the opportunity to work with individuals in high-responsibility roles and environments where privacy, trust, and thoughtful care are especially important.

Over the years, one thing has remained clear: no two people come to therapy with the same story, and meaningful care should reflect that.

My approach is warm, collaborative, and individualized. I value taking the time to understand not only what brings you to therapy, but also the experiences that have shaped you, the strengths you already possess, and what you hope to gain from the process.

I created The Wright Direction to bring these values together in one practice, providing thoughtful psychological care that makes room for both where you are and where you want to go.

Beyond the Therapy Room

Outside of my professional work, you’ll likely find me hiking, exploring new cities, trying new cuisines, dancing like no one is watching, enjoying 90s R&B, Gospel, and House music, or spending time connecting with my community. I’m also a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, and can often be found proudly representing my alma mater, the illustrious Howard University.

These are some of the things that keep me grounded, connected, and reminded of the importance of making space for joy along the way.

Our Philosophy

At The Wright Direction, we believe meaningful change begins with feeling seen, heard, and understood.

There is no single path to healing or growth. Each person brings a unique story, set of strengths, challenges, identities, and goals to the process. For that reason, care is individualized rather than one-size-fits-all.

Empathy, collaboration, and respect are at the heart of our approach. We strive to create an environment that allows space for reflection and honest conversation while supporting greater insight, resilience, and growth.

Guiding Principles of
The Wright Direction

Culturally Responsive Care

We recognize that identity, culture, background, and lived experiences can shape how you understand yourself, your relationships, and the world around you. Care is grounded in cultural humility and responsiveness, with respect for the experiences and perspectives you bring into the room.

Empathy and Understanding

We believe meaningful care begins with feeling understood. Through thoughtful listening, curiosity, and compassion, we strive to create a welcoming space where you can speak openly, explore your experiences, and feel seen, heard, and supported.

Evidence-Based Practice

Our services are informed by current research and established psychological practices. Approaches are thoughtfully selected and tailored to your individual needs, experiences, and goals rather than relying on a one-size-fits-all approach.

Collaboration and Empowerment

You are an active participant in your care. We work collaboratively to understand your needs, identify meaningful goals, and develop an individualized approach that reflects your values while building insight, skills, and confidence along the way.

Confidentiality and Trust

Trust is foundational to psychological care. We approach your privacy with professionalism, discretion, and integrity, creating an environment where you can feel comfortable speaking openly and honestly.

Holistic Well-Being

We recognize that mental health is connected to the whole person. Our approach considers the relationship between mind, body, environment, relationships, and lived experiences in supporting your overall well-being.
