Relationships Change. Sometimes, the Way We Relate to Each Other Needs to Change Too.

Couples therapy is not only for when something feels wrong. It can offer a space to slow down, better understand one another, and pay attention to the patterns shaping your relationship.

Every relationship experiences moments of tension, miscommunication, or disconnection. Over time, certain patterns can become difficult to shift, even when both partners care deeply about one another.

Whether you are working through a specific challenge, navigating a new season together, or simply wanting to strengthen your relationship, therapy can provide an opportunity to understand what is happening between you and approach one another in new ways.

You May Be Here Because:

  • Communication feels strained or repetitive
  • You find yourselves having the same arguments without resolution
  • Trust has been impacted and needs attention
  • You are navigating a significant transition together
  • You feel emotionally disconnected or misunderstood
  • You want to strengthen your relationship before concerns become larger

You do not need to wait until your relationship is in crisis to seek support. Couples therapy can also be a proactive way to invest in the health and growth of your relationship.

Our Approach

Our work is structured, collaborative, and informed by evidence-based couples therapy, including Gottman-informed approaches.

The goal is not to determine who is right or wrong. Instead, we work to better understand the patterns within your relationship, how each partner experiences those patterns, and what may help create more effective ways of communicating and relating to one another.

There is space for each partner’s perspective to be heard and understood, while encouraging open and thoughtful participation throughout the process.

What to Expect

The couples therapy process typically begins with:

  1. 1

    An Initial Session Together

We begin by exploring your relationship, current concerns, strengths, and what you each hope to gain from therapy.

  2. 2

    Individual Sessions

Each partner then meets individually with Dr. Wright, providing an opportunity to share additional context and perspective.

  3. 3

    Returning to Joint Sessions

We return to sessions together with a clearer understanding of the relationship and areas of focus. From there, our work is tailored to your goals and the needs of your relationship.

Together, We May Work Toward:

  • Improving communication and navigating conflict more effectively
  • Deepening emotional connection and understanding
  • Rebuilding or strengthening trust
  • Recognizing and changing unhelpful relationship patterns
  • Developing practical tools you can use outside of sessions
  • Creating a relationship that more closely reflects your shared values and goals

A Space for Both Partners

Couples therapy is not about assigning blame or determining who is “right.”

It is an opportunity to understand the relationship from multiple perspectives, increase awareness of the patterns between you, and explore changes that may support a healthier and more fulfilling dynamic.

The process is approached with balance and respect, with the goal of helping both partners feel heard, understood, and engaged in the work.

Working With Dr. Wright

Dr. Wright is a Gottman-trained clinician with experience supporting couples through a range of relationship dynamics, including communication challenges, conflict, life transitions, trust concerns, and emotional disconnection.

Her approach is thoughtful, balanced, and collaborative, creating space for each partner’s perspective while keeping the relationship and its goals at the center of the work.

Strong relationships are not built all at once. They grow through greater understanding, intentional effort, and a willingness to keep learning about one another.

Couples therapy can support that process by helping partners deepen their understanding and explore new ways of moving forward together.
